Emergency management, emergency preparedness, and disaster services are common throughout the United States—we take care of each other. By whatever name, these activities encompass mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery related to any kind of disaster, whether natural, technological, or national security. It's purpose is to 1) educate Boy Scouts about citizenship in relation to conservation and to involve them in community activities relating to environmental issues. 2) offer a mechanism by which Scouts can develop positive attitudes toward their environment and community while being exposed to interesting career opportunities. 3) provide the opportunity to honor Boy Scouts for their significant contributions toward keeping America beautiful. |

A Scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion. To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious groups have developed the following religious emblems programs. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious groups administer the programs. Check with your local council service center or contact the religious organization directly to obtain the curriculum booklets.
